Performance photography - the art of capturing magic.

Circus is a magical space, where lights, color, sound, movement, and people come together to create stories that move and entertain us.  There is nothing quite like seeing a circus performance live, sitting at the side of the ring as the acrobats and clowns come right up and draw you in, making moments that you will remember for a lifetime.  I aim to capture those moments - those never to be repeated instants where everything comes together, the acrobats look at you, the energy crackles, and you are transported into a different story.

As an aerialist myself, I've learned where those moments happen.  Circus is hard work: hours of rehearsal, weeks of act development, and years of training, all for something that vanishes in the blink of an eye.  Look away for a second, and you've missed a year.  These pictures are for the audience - to remember those magical moments and relive them.  But they are also for the performer - to remember the sweat and love that went into creating that one instant where everything worked just right and they were center stage for the world to see.
